🔐 Public DNS Blocklists – Important Information

The blocklists provided on this page are freely available for anyone to download, view, or use with DNS-based filtering solutions such as AdGuard Home, Pi-hole, or similar systems.

These lists are offered as-is, without warranty, and are intended to help reduce exposure to harmful or undesirable online content. No blocklist can provide complete protection, and results will vary depending on how and where they are used.

✅ Recommended Lists (Safe Defaults)

The following lists are generally safe to use in most DNS filtering setups and are suitable for family, community, or shared networks:

• Porn.txt – Blocks known pornographic and adult-content websites

• Gambling.txt – Blocks online gambling, betting, and casino sites

• Scams.txt – Blocks known scam, phishing, impersonation, and fraud domains

These lists have a low risk of false positives and should not interfere with normal web browsing when used with DNS-level blockers such as AdGuard Home.

⚠️ Advanced / Opt-In Lists (Use with Caution)

The remaining lists on this page are much more aggressive in scope. They may block advertising networks, analytics, telemetry, or other infrastructure that legitimate websites rely on to function.

As a result, these lists may break websites, cause login failures, or lead to “just browsing” issues.

These lists are not recommended for general household use and should only be enabled by users who understand the trade-offs involved:

• Ultimate-Blocklist.txt

• Fake_News.txt (content-based and subjective)

If you choose to use these lists, expect to perform allow-listing and troubleshooting.

⚖️ Important Notes

• DNS filtering cannot block everything (VPNs, encrypted tunnels, and some apps may bypass it).

• New domains appear constantly; no list is ever complete.

• These lists are intended to reduce risk, not replace good judgement or safe browsing habits.

• Use of these lists is entirely at your own discretion.

For most users, a balanced DNS filtering setup will include:

• Porn.txt

• Gambling.txt

• Scams.txt

The other lists should be considered optional, experimental, or opt-in only.

Purpose:
Blocks advertising networks, tracking, telemetry, and some malware domains.

What this list does well:

• Reduces tracking and online advertising

• Blocks many known malware distribution points

Things to be aware of:

• This list blocks analytics and telemetry used by legitimate websites

• Some websites may not load correctly or may have broken features

• Users may experience “I’m just browsing and things don’t work” issues

Recommended for:

⚠ Privacy-focused setups

What this list does well:

• Very aggressive blocking of tracking and marketing services

Things to be aware of:

• High chance of broken logins, missing content, or non-functional pages

• Not limited to malware or scams
